PUBLIC NOTICE Cemetery Relocation – Jefferson Township By Order of the Jefferson Township Board of Trustees The Board of Trustees of Jefferson Township, Fayette County, Ohio, has adopted Resolution No. 2026-08 declaring the McKillip-Kirk Cemetery located within Jefferson Township, abandoned under R.C. 517.21 and authorizing the relocation of all human remains and grave markers in accordance with R.C. 517.23–517.26. All remains and markers will be respectfully disinterred and reinterred at Fairview Cemetery under the supervision of the Fayette County Health Department and licensed funeral director Kevin Brown. No living descendants or next of kin have been identified despite diligent inquiry. Family or friends wishing to remove remains must do so within 30 days of this notice. After that period, the Township will proceed with relocation. A complete record of all disinterments and reinterments will be kept in the official records of Jefferson Township.
